MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE & STAFF
CCABO is managed by an elected and properly constituted Committee as set out in its constitution.
The Committee is responsible for:
Goal setting and strategies; and
Management and overseeing the day-to-day business of the Association.
The CCABO Committee is currently composed the following members, who have offered their services on a voluntary basis. They are members of the Association in good standing and are employed by various corporate entities as Corporate Counsel in Botswana.
- Mrs. Ludo Tema (LT) – Chairperson;
- Mr. Morebodi Jamba (MJ) – Vice Chairperson;
- Mr. Keletso Tebele (KT) – Treasurer;
- Mrs. Lesego Tabokana (LT) – Vice Secretary;
- Mrs. Nomsa Otsogile (NO) Additional Member;
- Ms. Naledi Comet Mokgwathi (NCM) Additional Member
- Mr. Sebele (S) Additional Member; and
- Mrs. Onthatile Tiny Ogotseng (OO) Secretary.
MEMBERSHIP
CCABO members are employed and represent more than 50 corporate entities and other organisations in Botswana. CCABO’s membership requirements are set out under Article 6 of the Constitution.
We currently have a professional group of approximately 200 members and growing.
OBJECTIVES
The overriding objectives of CCABO are but not limited to:
– Promotion of Corporate Counsel’s common interests in Botswana;
– Improvement and promotion of the proficiency and competency of its members through information sharing this will be done through scheduled events, conferences, seminars, webinars and trainings;
– Encourage professional and ethical conduct amongst its members;
– Provide a forum for the exchange of views and mutual liaison on matters of common interest;
– To partner and liaise with relevant national and international organisations for the promotion of its goals;
– To make representations concerning the teaching and practice of law and the administration of justice in general to the relevant authorities;
– To deal in general with all matters concerning the Association or any of its members.

Enhancing the skills of the in-house counsel to better serve the organisations and the wider society.

CCABO’s mission is to provide up to date information, training, networking and advocacy for its stakeholders.
ENVISIONED STATE OF THE FULLY FUNCTIONING AND SUSTAINABLE ASSOCIATION
CCABO will serve as a guiding Association, where non-compliant counsel can be reported for disciplinary and mediation purposes by both the employer and fellow counsels, following the processes outlined in governing documents.
Yearly Gala Events for members and employer representative/s.
Events, conferences, seminars, webinars and trainings held to discuss industry trends.
Ability to lobby parliament to influence legislature based on industry learnings.
Newsletter published twice a year which will cover different activities in the industry, thought leadership articles and different matters concerning the law.
OVERVIEW OF MEMBER BENEFITS
SPONSORS AND STAKEHOLDERS
All sponsors and stakeholders will be engaged on an ongoing basis through Annual General Meetings and any Special Meetings for updates on the progression of the Association. The CCABO will operate on an open-door policy process to allow all involved to be able to reach out to the governing body to discuss matters that will contribute to the progression of the Association.

Whilst CCABO operates as a non-profit entity (registered as a society under the Society’ Act), it is managed using sounds governance principles.
